Prussian Black Lacquered Tin Metal Ersatz Pickelhaube

Bargain priced

Prussian Infantry black lacquered stamped metal ersatz Circa 1914. Another "Barn Find" from the Parker Collection. Rod Parker was an advanced Imperial WWI era Collector from the 1960's through 2000. He lived on the family ranch in rural Texas. Rod died suddenly in 2000. Sadly, his family put much of his collection in the barn outside the family home for over 20 years. We have a lot of stories. Ask us sometime when we meet up at a show. This helmet is an early WWI stamped metal Ersatz "kit helmet" ( see Col. Joe Robinson - https://pickelhauben.net/kit-helmets/). The stamped metal helmet body is in excellent shape with fine black exterior finish. The black finish can be easily brought back with cleaning and waxing. The metal trim is brass that as oxidized with age. M91 brass side posts. Inside the helmet bell is handwritten number 5. The helmet is missing the head liner, cockades and chinstrap. This would be a great item for a collector who has the time and ability to restore the helmet. Bargain priced.
