Prussian 10th Jäger Officers Shako
100% all original and untouched officer’s shako.
Hannoverian 10th Jaeger Battalions (Established 1803 – Goslar) Officer Shako post 1899. All original shako. Officer quality black felt covered leather shako with gilded brass trim. The helmet body is in excellent shape with fine form and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. The cloth portion of the shako is in excellent condition with no moth damage or tears. There is a small 6mm area on the left side where the lacquer of the back of the leather portion of the chinscale has stuck to the cloth.
The shako is a large size. Interior has officer style sweat leather and silk headliner. The liner shows age and use but is in overall excellent condition. The frontplate is Line Prussian with the banners “Peninsula – Waterloo – Venta del Pozo”. On January 24,1899, this banner was awarded in commemorations of this unit’s service in The Kings German Legion during the Napoleonic Wars. Flat chinscales on rosettes. Single Officer style Reichs cockade. Fine officer silver bullion with black center. This is an extremely rare Elite unit officers shako. 100% all original and untouched officer’s shako.
