Beautiful Helmet - Near Mint condition

Bavarian General Officer Model 1897 post May, 1914. Absolutely original and untouched helmet in Near Mint Condition. Black lacquered leather helmet body with all silver trim. Helmet body has nice form and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. Exterior lacquer in MINT condition without crazing. Interior has the officer brown sweat leather and beige colored silk headliner in good condition with some wear. to the silk part (see pictures).

Crossed spike base with officers pearl ring and removable fluted spike. Frontplate is the frosted fire gilt Bavarian Wappen with the enameled crest for Bavarian General Officers attributed after May, 1914. No damage to the enamel which is quite rare by itself. This Frontplate is futhermore attached to helmet body with screw/nut retainers. Convex silver chinscales with rosettes. Officer Reichs and Bavarian cockades.

The helmet came with its original White and Blue Feather Plume and silver trichter. The plume is complet with its fancy top, but quite fragile and missing some feathers (see pictures) We would assume approx. 70% of the initial feathers remain.
