Saxon Thüringen Infantry Enlisted Pickelhaube

Nice and Rare.

Saxon Thuringian 95th Infantry for an Enlisted Man Model 1895. very nice helmet. Fine black leather helmet body with brass trim. Helmet body is in excellent form, lacquer with only minor flaws. Both visor with good stitching. Black leather tongue style liner complete and still supple, with some wear marks.  No extra holes in helmet body. Prewar quality brass trim. Enlisted style spike top that does not untwist. Original brass brads holding base to helmet body.

Frontplate is the Prussian style brass Eagle with FUERST banner and the silver star and Saxon crest surround on both sides by laurel leaves. The frontplate is secured to helmet body by screws and nuts (See pictures). Original leather chinstrap. Original Reichs AND State Cockade (Rare). This helmet is in excellent condition. Beautiful example of a Rare Regimental helmet. NOTE: the Back visor is marked with "6.TH.JR.95"on one side and "B.A.IV" on the other. We believe this is actually a true Infantry Regt 153 (8th Thuringisches) pickelhaube because the B.A IV is a definite original stamp. But we remain sceptical in regards to the 6.TH.JR.95 markings. Looks good...but never seen. Priced accordingly.
