Saxon Model 1915 Enlisted Infantry Pickelhaube

Saxon Infantry Enlisted Mans Helmet Model 1915. From the New England Collection. Black lacquered leather helmet body with field gray trim. Helmet body has perfect form and fine stitching. Exterior lacquer has soft age-related sheen but no cracks or damage. Interior of helmet has pre-war quality black dyed EM style leather liner that is still soft. Liner. The liner has scuffing around the ear area but no other damage. Inner visors are natural colored. There are marks or issue stamps on the inside of the back visor, but they are not legible.
Frontplate is the Saxon star and center device that are one piece and in field gray metal. The frontplate is held to helmet with original leather wedges through grommeted holes. There are small puncture holes outside of the grommets, but they have not been used. All metal trim including base/spike, back spine, side lugs and front visor trim are matching field gray in color. Original leather chinstrap holders over the M91 side lug but the leather strap is missing. Original Non-Serrated Reich and Saxon cockades. This helmet is 100% original and untouched. Great WWI era Saxon helmet. Bargain for the collector to complete with a chinstrap.
