Saxon 21st Uhlan Regt. Officers Tschapka
Outstanding and RARE regimental helmet.
Saxon 21st Uhlan Regiment -(Kaiser Wilhelm -King of Prussia) - Officers Tschapka with the rare WWI wartime metal Mortar Board. Black lacquered leather body with silver metal trim. The helmet has perfect form with Ersatz style metal black painted mortar board. This helmet has the proper turned down front visor in front. Visor stitching also in perfect condition. The exterior lacquer is in excellent condition and still has near mint sheen. There are slightly widened hole (see photo) in the helmet body, but this is without doubt a genuine helmet.
Black metal mortar board is in excellent condition and has proper officer hook for parade cords. The metal mortar board is adhered to the helmet body with black studs (see photo). Some of the paint on the lower portion has flaked off (see photos). The helmet interior has sweat leather band and beige silk hedliner in dirty and slightly worn condition. The front plate is the large silver star on which is placed the gild Saxon crest. Original rounded silver chinscales with silver rosettes. Original non-serrated Reichs officer cockade. The helmet has the silver bullion with dark center and back of the field badge. The helmet is presented in the “Service" (Dienst) Form without rabatte or cords. Outstanding and RARE style helmet from an Elite Regiment.
