Prussian Uhlan Enlisted Model 1915 Tschapka

Prewar Tschapka - Modified in 1915. Rare pattern!

Prussian Line Uhlan Enlisted Man Tschapka that was first a prewar model that has been modified in 1915. Black lacquered leather body, round front visor, black leather covered mortar board and field gray trim. The helmet has excellent form and firm stitching with proper turned down front visor. Exterior lacquer is in good condition and still has nice sheen. The helmet interior has a pre-war style flat tabbed leather headliner. Lining that has very light wear and is complete.

Black leather mortar board is the pre-war form that is secured to the helmet body. The corners of the mortar board still have slots for securing the cloth rabatte (see photos). Leather and wood top knot for cord placement.  Front plate is the small Uhlan sized Prussian Line Regiments Heraldic Eagle. No extra holes in the helmet body. There are no regimental markings found. M1891 field gray side posts with original leather chinstrap and original Reichs cockade.  The field badge is missing. The Prussian Line regiment Uhlan Tschapka is less commonly found than the Guards Regiment model. This helmet shows genuine use as a transition model from Pre-War to M1915. This a rare early war Imperial German helmet style. Rare pattern Imperial era helmet.
