Prussian NCO School senior Instructor Pickelhaube
Very rare NCO school senior instructor!
Prussian NCO School Senior Instructor helmet Model 1897-1914. A rare and beautiful helmet from an old collection. This helmet is all officer quality construction and trim. Black lacquered leather helmet body with wartime gilded zinc trim. The helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer remains in near perfect condition with only some storage marks. No extra holes in the helmet body. The interior of helmet has a Officers grade with sweat leather and brown silk headliner. The headliner is complete in MINT virtually unworn condition. Red and green colored underlays to visors as is common with officer helmets.
The Frontplate is the Prussian gilt Line Eagle with a highly vaulted silver Guard Star on the Eagles breast. The frontplate has stamped holes for the mounting of the star as is seen on "Furst" frontplates. It appears old and has not been altered (See Photos). The spike and base retains all of its wartime gilding with only a slight darkened area to indicate the zinc metal underneath. Gold brads at base of helmet. Officer style flat chinscales on rosettes. Prussian and Reichs Officer style cockades.
The Imperial German Army was known to have the best NCO training. During WWI the NCO training was greatly expanded requiring more quality instruction. This helmet is clearly a wartime production piece that was worn by one of the senior NCO instructors. We believe this is a very rare and 100% original and untouched helmet.
