Prussian/Hanoverian 9th Dragoon Officer Pickelhaube to Parade

Genuine and untouched

Hanoverian 9th Dragoon Regiment (1st Hanoverian Dragoon- Established 1805-Metz) Officer Model 1899 with Parade Plume. Recently acquired at a show in the US. Leather helmet body with squared front visor and gold metal trim. Older style helmet body (mid 1890’s). The leather body shows age and use (see photos). There are extra holes in helmet body due to the frontplate change in 1899. The helmet interior has sweat leather and non-ribbed white silk headliner. The silk liner has ink stamp from maker. The helmet has a gold crossed spike base with officer pearl/diamond ornamentation at base.

Tall smooth plume trichter on which is mounted a black Yak hair parade plume. Large gold stars retain cross base to helmet. The Frontplate is the new post-January 24, 1899 Officer Hanoverian Dragoon Eagle with the banner “Waterloo – Peninsula - Gohrde” to commemorate this Regiments service in the Kings German Legion during the Napoleonic Wars. This regiment served in Spain and during the final battle at Waterloo. Original set of convex rounded gold chinscales with a gold officer rosette. Original officers Reich and Prussian cockades.
This helmet shows real age and use. It is a genuine and untouched Hannoverian 9th Dragoon officer. Bargain priced.
