Prussian Felt Ersatz Artillery Enlisted "Gray Trim"

Prussian Infantry Enlisted Man for Line Artllery Regiments post 1915. Out of the woodwork find. Green pressed felt helmet body with field gray trim. Helmet body has excellent form. Exterior felt in very good shape with crack on left side (see photos) that has a sewn repair. No extra holes in the helmet body.

The frontplate is the field gray Prussian Line Regiments eagle, held by the two original leather wedges. The eagle fits securely to the helmet shell. Enlisted style M1915 removable ball top. Round base with split brad retainers. The interior has a thick black leather EM style lining. Black ink marking inside right side of back visor. Handwritten soldier name on left side of back visor. No chinstrap or cockades. Genuine Vet bring back from WWI. Fine example of a wartime felt ersatz helmet.
