Prussian 2nd Garde Uhlan NCO/Private Purchase Tschapka to Parade

Prussian 2nd Guard Uhlan Regiment - Private Purchase One Year Volunteer to Parade circa 1900. Beautiful black lacquered leather body with gilded brass metal trim. The helmet has perfect form with all leather mortar board and proper turned down front visor. Visor stitching also in perfect condition. The exterior lacquer is in excellent condition and still has nice sheen. No extra holes in the helmet body.

Black leather mortar board is tightly covered with a red rabatte that has white cording. On top of the mortar board is the leather cord holder. The helmet interior has sweat leather and beige silk headliner. The headliner is embossed in gold with the makers name and address. It is an outstanding designed from a maker we have not seen before (see photo) "FRIEDRICH BRAND - Fabrik für Uniformen ü. Ausrustungen - Friedrichstr. 205 - BERLINS.W."

The front plate is the gold frosted wide winged Prussian Garde Uhlan style Officer Eagle with enameled silver Prussian Guard star. Original rounded gold chinscales with gold rosettes. Original Reichs officer cockade. The helmet also has a white corded field badge with black center field badge. The horse hair parade plume fitted underneath field badge.This helmet is all high officer quality construction. The One Year Volunteer need only change the exterior rabatte, cords + hook, and field badge to become a FULL OFFICER helmet. Beautiful and all original helmet.
