Prussian Pioneer Line Battalions - Officer Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection. Black lacquered fiber helmet body with silver metal trim. The helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. The exterior lacquer has bright and near perfect finish. No extra holes in the helmet body. Green and Red lined front and back visors respectively. The helmet has officer style sweat leather and silk headliner. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Officers Eagle with silver frosting. Round silver Officers base held by 4 gilt stars. The spike does not unscrew. Flat gilt chinscales held by Silver rosettes. Office rs Prussian and Reichs Cockades. Beautiful and outstanding conditioned fiber helmet from the wartime era.
