Prussian LandGendarme Enlisted Pickelhaube - Case

Outstanding helmet, out of the Woodwork

Prussian mounted Landes Gendarme enlisted man’s helmet circa 1900 with black transport case. The helmet was found in an attic in Germany. This helmet has never been touched or cleaned. Black lacquered leather dragoon style helmet body (Square front visor and crossed spike base) in excellent shape with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is in perfect shape. All metal trim is brass. The frontplate is missing. There are 2 visible outlines of previously used plates. One was a Prussian Guard Eagle (post 1890 plate and the other a Prussian Line Eagle. Inside the helmet bell is marked “LG 12” that has been blacked out. Full black EM style that is in excellent condition. EM style crossed spike base with removable spike. Under spike base a twist type vent can be seen. This keeps rain from seeping onto wearers head. Rounded M94 chinscales retained by M91 side lugs. NCO Prussian and Reich colored Cockades. Helmet comes with black transport case with the letters “LG” stamped into inside. Outstanding helmet that is literally out of the Woodwork
