Saxe-Weimar 94th Infantry Regiment Pickelhaube
A very Rare Regimental Helmet
Saxe-Weimar 94th Infantry Regiment - Infantry Regiment Grand Duke von Saxony-5th Thuringian Infantry. Regt.) - Officer Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet body with gilded brass trim. All metal trim is slightly darkened with age. The helmet body in excellent condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is still shiny (see photos) and has not lost any lacquer. No extra holes in helmet body. Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. The headliner shows slight wear.
Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. All metal trim is gilded brass. The frontplate for the helmet Prussian style line eagle with the banner “Mit Gott fur Furst und Vaterland”. On the eagle’s breast is a silver star with the Coat of Arms of Saxony ( with Oak Leaves on one side and Laurel leaves on the other side) in the center. Officer style round spike and base. Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Flat style chinscales on gold rosettes. Standard Reich and Weimar (Green-Gold-Black) cockade. All original and rare regimental helmet. The helmet was cleaned in the past. Very rare single regimental helmet.
