Prussian Garde Infantry Officer Pickelhaube - MINT

Prussian Guard Infantry Officer  Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection.  Stunning MINT helmet.  Black lacquered leather body with fire gilt metal trim. Helmet body in perfect condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer has shiny finish with no damage. There are NO extra holes in the helmet body. The Prussian Guards Eagle has left deep impression in the helmet body as evidenced in photos.  The helmet interior has near mint sweat leather and silk headliner.

Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. The frontplate for the helmet is the Prussian Garde Eagle with the Star of the Prussian Black Eagle Order in Silver and Enamel on the eagle’s chest. Beautiful detail to enamel. Round spike base with tall smooth spike for service wear. Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Flat gold chinscales on gold rosettes. Officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. The helmet has not been cleaned or polished. Perfect example of a Prussian Guards officer helmet.
