RARE! Prussian Pioneer Battalion Enlisted Man green felt erstz circa 1914. Out of the woodwork find. Green pressed felt helmet body with German Silver trim. Helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior felt in excellent shape with no tears or damage. No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Regiments eagle, held by the two original leather wedges. The eagle fits the helmet shell like a glove.

Enlisted style silver round base with non-removable spike top. The spike base is held to helmet body with split brad retainers. There is no back spine on this model. The interior has a thin black leather lining with 10 flaps that are all original and in mint condition. there are no distinguishable regimental markings. The helmet has M91 silver side posts. Original leather chinstrap with German silver fittings. along with a set of enlisted Reich and Prussian cockades. Fine example of a rare wartime felt ersatz helmet.
