Prussian 1st & 2nd Jäger Battalion Enlisted Shako

Prussian 1st & 2nd Jaeger Batallion Enlisted Man Model 1899. Black lacquered leather shako with brass metal trim. Leather helmet body in excellent shape with firm stitching. Helmet is the standard shako form. Exterior lacquer in excellent condition with bright finish and only mild age crazing. The helmet interior has standard EM style tongued liner in Mint condition. No legible stamps inside helmet body.

Frontplate is the brass Prussian eagle with the "Old Regiments" Plate "FWR", held to helmet body with both original leather wedges (we gently tried to remove frontplate but were unable to do so without breaking the leather wedges). Plate is missing the orb. Original white and black cloth Field Badge. Original leather chinstrap over M91 sidelugs. Reichs EM style cockade under chinstrap on right side of helmet. Beautiful and ALL Original helmet from a rare Battalion sized unit.
