Baden 110th Grenadier Officers Pickelhaube

The helmet is "salty" but it retains its original fire gilding

Baden 110th Grenadier Regt (2nd Baden-Hdq. Heidelberg/Mannheim) Officer to Parade - Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass gilded trim. The helmet body has nice form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is uneven with crazing due to age but is complete. No extra holes in the helmet body. The interior has officer quality soft leather headliner and white non-ribbed silk headliner. Interior visors are lined with Green and Red for Officers.
The fire gilded trim is officer quality and matches 100%. The spike base has the officer pearl ring and tall trichter to display the white Yak hair parade plume. The base is held to helmet body with brass/gilt stars retainers that are screwed. The frontplate is the gilded Baden Griffin that has screw back retainers. Flat gilt chinscales on rosettes. Officer style 2 piece Reichs cockade and furled non-serrated Baden cockade. The helmet is "salty" but it retains its original fire gilding. Overall a nice piece.
