Prussian 7th Uhlan Reserve Officer Tschapka
Outstanding and RARE regimental helmet.
Prussian 7th Uhlan Regiment - Reserve Officers Tschapka with the rare post 1913 frontplate. Recently obtained from an old US collection. Black lacquered leather body with silver metal trim. The helmet has perfect form with all leather mortar board and proper turned down front visor. Visor stitching also in perfect condition. The exterior lacquer is in excellent condition and still has nice sheen. There are slightly widened holes due to the change of frontplate from active to reserve (See photo) in the helmet body but this is without doubt a genuine helmet.
Black leather mortar board is in perfect condition and has proper officer hook for parade cords. The helmet interior has sweat leather and MINT beige silk headliner. The front plate is the wide winged Prussian Grenadier style Officer Eagle without bandeau IN FROSTED SILVER. A gold Prussian Landwehr Cross on the eagle's chest. Original rounded gold chinscales with silver rosettes. Original Reichs officer cockade. The helmet does has the silver bullion with black center field badge. The helmet is presented in the “Service" (Dienst) Form without rabatte or cords. Outstanding and RARE regimental helmet.
