Bavarian Reserve Jäger Officer Shako to Parade

Bavarian Line Jaeger 1st & 2nd Battalions - Reserve Officer M1897. Black lacquered leather shako body with cloth covered center and gilt metal trim. The helmet body is in excellent shape with fine form and firm stitching. Exterior black lacquer in excellent conditon. Black cloth covered center body is complete in near mint condition with no tears or moth damage. Large size helmet.

The helmet interior has officer style sweat leather and silk headliner (silk headliner appears to replaced). No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is Jäger style elongated Bavarian crest in gold with a silver reserve cross in the center (see Photos). The frontplate is secured to helmet body with screws. Half rounded Bavarian style gilded brass chinscales under rosettes. Single Officer style Reichs cockade. Missing field badge. The helmet also has a black yack hair parade plume mounted on a gilded brass Jaeger officer style plume trichter. These plume are rarely seen. The helmet never been cleaned or polished.
