Prussian Silver Garde Reserve Officers Pickelhaube to Parade

Prussian Guard Fusilier Regiment, Guard Eisenbahn Regiments or Guard Pioneer Battalion Reserve Officer - with black parade bush - Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection. Black lacquered leather helmet with silver metal trim. Helmet has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in excellent condition but is dull with age. The helmet Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner in excellent overall condition. Red and green lined inner visors. There are extra holes in helmet body due to the frontplate change from Active to Reserve (see photos).

Round spike base with tall removable smooth plume trichter. A black yak hair plume is mounted to the trichter with the plume hair cut to the proper length for troop of foot.  4 gold stars with screws at the spike base. Front plate is the large winged Prussian Reserve Guard Eagle without “Mit Gott fur Koenig und Vaterland” banner with the enameled star of the Black Eagle Order on the eagles chest.  Below the Guard Star is the Prussian reserve cross that is affixed to  the frontplate. The frontplate has left distinctive marks in the helmet lacquer.  Original Reichs and Prussian Officer cockades. Flat gold chinscales under silver rosettes. A beautiful and 100% original helmet.
