Hessen 115th Lifeguard Infantry Regiment (The Grand Duke of Hessen Regiment) – Officer – Model 1897. From the Rich Ames collection. Black lacquered fiber with silver metal trim. The helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. No extra holes in the helmet body. Officer style sweat leather and silk headliner. Silver metal trim is uncleaned.

The frontplate is the Hessen Lion with double wreath and a highly vaulted Hessen enameled star on the Lions chest. Above the frontplate is the special silver commemoration bandeau with "1621" indicating the founding year of the Regiment. Hessen style cross base mounted with silver stars retainers. The special Hessen fluted spike that is removable. Flat silver chinscales on silver rosettes. Impressive and very Rare Elite regimental helmet. Original and uncleaned condition.
