Prussian 7th Grenadier Enlisted Pickelhaube

Original Parts Helmet

Prussian 7th Grenadier Regiment Enlisted Man Model 1895**. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass trim. The helmet body is in good condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer remains in good overall condition. There are extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian wide winged Grenadier Eagle with the banner "22 Marz 1797". The helmet interior has black dyed leather EM style headliner. Inside markings are not legible.

The back visor has been glued on the the helmet body. Round spike base with removable spike. All the parts of this helmet are original but we feel that this is a "parts helmet". The grommeted holes in the helmet body are for a wide winged eagle, but the back of the front plate has had the loops moved several times (see photos). The eagle is original. We feel that the helmet was put together by the old collector out of original parts.
