Prussian General Officers Helmet - Named to General Officer

Prussian General Officer style helmet, used by officer of Prussian War Ministry - Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet with fire gilt trim. Helmet has fine form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer in excellent condition with bright sheen and no lacquer loss. No extra holes in the helmet body. Squared front visor trim and crossed spike base. The frontplate is the Prussian Guards Eagle with a silver guard star with enameled center (see photo).

Crossed spike base with star retainers. Fluted Prussian General style spike that does not overlap the base. Interior has leather sweat band with silk headliner. The interior show use and wear. Rounded chinscales on rosettes with officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. Inside the helmet bell is the owners lable "Geheimer Hofrat von Fuchs -Rechtskundiger Burgermeister Stadt Bad Kissengen - Vizepraesedent der Kammer der abgeordenet" .

That translates into Secret Advisor von Fuchs - Mayor of Bad Kissengen - Vice President of the Chamber advisors. We assume the owner served in the Prussian War Ministry but not as a General Officer. Fine helmet with interesting Provenance.
