Prussian 2nd Garde Dragoon Eigenthums Pickelhaube

Prussian 2nd Guard Dragoon Regiment - Regiment of the Empress Alexandria of Russia's Regiment- Officer Candidate or NCO private purchase helmet - Model 1895. From a well known US Collection. Fine heavy leather helmet body with silver metal trim in near mint condition. The helmet body in excellent form and firm stitching. The lacquer finish is in excellent condition. The helmet interior has undyed EM style liner that is in excellent condition (see photos). The helmet interior visors are plain leather and have no legible markings.

Close observation on the inside of the helmet shows that there are arsenal sealed holes in the helmet body. These holes are not evident when the helmet plate is removed (See photos). The frontplate is the lightly frosted Prussian Guard Dragoon Officer Eagle (cut out crown) that is held to the helmet body with screws. The Guard Star is high profile and frosted silver. Silver crossed spike base with NCO pearl ring at spike base. Tall removable. Heavy M1895 gold chinscales on silver. Large Prussian and Reichs EM cockades. Beautiful example of a 2nd Guard Dragoon helmet.
