Prussian 14th Uhlan Officers Tschapka.
Rare Tschapka with unique frontplate.
Hannoverian. 14th Uhlan Regiment Officer Tschapka Model 1897 stationned in St. Avold. Black lacquered leather body with round front visor and black leather mortar board. Silver metal trim with gold chinscales. Helmet has excellent form and firm stitching with proper turned down front visor. Exterior lacquer shows age and some chips at base of the mortar board and by the feldzeichen entrance but generaly in very nice condition. Leather mortarboard is in excellent shape. On top of mortarboard is the officer style hook for bullion cords.
Bullion Prussian Officer field badge. No extra holes in helmet body. The helmet interior headliner has soft sweat leather and silk headliner. Silk lining slightly dusty/dirty and but with firm stitching to sweat band. Front plate is the Prussian Line Eagle in silver with the Battle honor -dating back to the napoleonic wars- banners “Waterloo - Peninsula - Garza Hernandez” surrounding the eagle. Rounded gold chinscales on rosettes. Reichs Officer cockade on right side. Extremely rare Regimental Uhlan Officer helmet Beautiful helmet.
