German Imperial Marine Enlisted Shako

Imperial German Marine Enlisted Mans Shako circa 1900. Leather shako helmet body with metal trim in fine brass trim. Helmet body has fine form and firm stitching. No extra holes in the helmet body. The front visor has an old crack that was repaired in the past. The shako frontplate is the Imperial German “Reichs” eagle with wide wings. The frontplate is attached to the with split brads on back of the plate. Flat brass chinscales on M1891 EM style side lugs. Cloth white, black and red field badge. The undyed leather headliner is very weak with age (see photos). This helmet has seen heavy use. All original helmet. Rare find in today’s marketplace.
