Prussian Garde Train Officer to Parade - with Spike

Prussian Guard Train Batallion Officer to Parade -and Service with spike- Model 1897. From a prestigeous American Collection. Black lacquered leather helmet with fine gilt frosted metal trim. Leather helmet body with fine form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer has excellent finish with bright finish. The helmet body has not extra holes. Interior of the helmet has fine sweat leather and silk headliner (see photos). Interior visors are colored red and green as is proper with officer helmets.

Round spike base with star retainers. The helmet has both spike top and tall black officer yak hair plume for parade (see photos). The frontplate is the wide winged Prussian Guards Eagle in fine frosted gilt. The silver star with enamelled Black Eagle Order on the eagles chest. Rounded gilt chinscales (for mounted Train Batallions) on rosettes. Officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. The helmet was professionally cleaned by the collector but is otherwise 100% original. Outstanding piece for display in any collection.
