Prussian 6th Kurassier Enlisted Pickelhaube

Extremely RARE and original helmet from the Franco-Prussian War era.

Prussian 6th Kurassier (Tsar Nicholas I of Russia's Kurassier Regiment -Established in 1691- Headquarter in Brandenburg) EM Model 1867. This is a heavy Tombac Kurassier helmet with German Silver trim. The helmet body is in excellent shape but in the past has had several period repairs. Some minor dents or scratches (please see pictures) are evident in the Tombac body. The spike base has football shaped as is proper for EM. The spike base is German Silver with the spike made of Tombac.

The frontplate is the silver Prussian Line eagle that is held to the helmet body with screws that piece the frontplate. The heads of the screw is a Faux eagle feather that is designed to "blend in" with the eagle feathers in the plate (see plate). Complete with black dyed leather liner that shows age and slight shrinkage. Heavy rounded Tombac chinscales on screw rosettes. Large single Prussian cockade on the right side of the helmet. This is an extremely RARE and original helmet from the Franco-Prussian War era.
