Prussian 1st Grenadier Regiment with Banner “1655”, Officer Model 1897 (Newest Model used after 1911. The helmet interior has standard sweat leather and silk headliner. The liner is in excellent condition but shows minimal use, tears and wear. The frontplate in the Prussian wide winged Grenadier Eagle and below it the banner ”1655”, to commemorate the founding date of this Regiment. The eagle placement is slightly high on the helmet body but it is clearly original to the helmet as you can see the outline of the eagle in the helmet lacquer. Flat gilt chinscales on rosettes. Original Reichs and Prussian Officer cockades. Absolutely 100% original helmet from an old collection. Near mint condition. Rarely seen in today’s marketplace.
