Prussian Guard Infantry Regiments Enlisted Man-Musician with red Horsehair Parade plume - Model 1895. An out of the woodwork find. Black lacquered leather helmet body with brass trim. The helmet body is in excellent condition with firm stitching. Exterior lacquer remains in excellent condition overall. There are extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Guards Eagle that has left deep impression in the helmet body (see photos). The helmet interior has black dyed leather EM style headliner.

Marked inside back visor "K.B.A.G. 1916". Inside helmet body marked "G.G.R.2" for the 2nd Guard Grenadier Regiment. Round spike base with tall smooth plume trichter with long red horsehair plume for parade wear. The plume length to the seam of the front visor trim indicates the plume for a regiment of foot which is proper for this helmet. The red plume indicates the wearer was part of the regimental music corps. Round studs secure the spike base to helmet body. Flat brass Model 1895 Enlisted style chinscales for parade dress. Enlisted style Reichs and Prussian cockades. This helmet has not been cleaned or polished but is in excellent condition throughout. Rare and beautiful parade helmet for a Guard Musician.
