Prussian Model 1915 Dragoon Enlisted Pickelhaube

Nice solid wartime expedient helmet.

Prussian Line Dragoon Enlisted Man - Model 1915. This helmet was initially made in 1889 (see date stamp inside of helmet bell) and was refurbished in 1915 as a wartime Ersatz helmet. Black lacquered helmet body with field gray trim. Helmet body has fine form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer has an age crackled finish. The helmet interior thick black leather lining with 9 flaps. The liner is complete and in good condition. Besides the "1889" there are no other markings noted inside helmet or visors. No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Dragoon Regiments eagle, held by the two original leather wedges. Enlisted style crossed spike base with a spike that twists off at base. The front visor is squared as is proper for dragoon helmets. Leather chinstrap on posts. Chinstrap has been repaired - broken leather but it is well done. Enlisted Reich and Prussian cockades. Nice solid wartime expedient helmet.
