Württemberg Infantry Officer with Parade Plume
Hard to upgrade helmet
Wurttemberg Infantry Reserve Officer to Parade helmet Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection. Beautiful black lacquered fiber helmet body with highly gilded brass trim. The helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is in near mint condition with near mirror finish. The interior of the helmet has officer soft tan colored sweat leather with the letter "S" inked into the silk headliner. No extra holes in the helmet body. The inner visors of helmet are red and green as is common for officers. As the front plate is the Wurttemberg crest.
The frontplate is 100% original and finely gilded with an oxidized silver reserve cross in the center of the frontplate. The frontplate is held to the helmet by screw attachments. Officer style crossed spike and base held to helmet body with star screw retainers. Instead of a spike top there is a tall gilded plum trichter that holds the black yak hair parade plume. The yak hair is cut to the level of the stitching on the front visor trim. This is proper for Infantry plumes. Flat officer chinscales on rosettes. Reichs and Wurttemberg 2-piece officer cockades. This helmet is 100% original and untouched. This is one of the finest conditioned helmets we have ever seen. This will be hard to upgrade.
