Saxon 20th Hussar Enlisted Busby
Beautiful and Marked NCO Busby!
Saxon 20th Hussar Regiment (3rd Saxon- 12th Army Corp) – NCO – Fur Busby (Pelzmutze) – Model 1897. The Pelzmütze is made from black-dyed seal hair and remains in excellent to near mint condition and has gilt metal trim. The frontplate is the EM gilt Saxon star with silver Arms of Saxony center device. Rounded brass M95 chinscales fitted over EM sidelugs. Single 2 piece NCO style Reichs cockade under right chinscale.
On top of the flat portion of the Busby is a blue colored Kolpak (wool bag) which hangs on the left side of the Pelzmütze. The Kolpak is in perfect condition. The Fangschnur (securing cord) is correctly attached and looped green and white checkered top toggle. Original Saxon NCO white cotton ribbed cloth with green centered Feldzeichen. The liner is the enlisted man black dyed type that is unique to Busbies. The Busby is profusely marked by maker "A.t Ges. Thiele", "B.A.XII 10" "5.E." and to the 20th Uhlan Regiment inside the flat top of helmet (see photo). Extremely rare and very beautiful hussar with original accessories.
