Prussian/Nassau 88th Infantry Regiment Enlisted Pickelhaube

Prussia - Nassau 88th Infantry Regiment (2nd Nassau Regt.-Hdq: Mainz) Enlisted Man Model 1895. Fine black lacquered leather helmet body with beautiful brass metal trim. The helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is in excellent condition with only minor age "spidering" and one bruise above the frontplate to finish. No extra holes in the helmet body. Standard Enlisted style leather black dyed leather liner in excellent shape. The inner visors are natural color. No regimental or issue marks detected. Inside the helmet bell is a partial soldiers paper tag "Musketier Sc---- Bezirkskomm ---"
Front plate is the Prussian Line Eagle with the banners "Mesa del Ibor -LaBelle Alliance - Medellin" for their service during the Napoleonic War. The frontplate is stamped in one piece. Front plate held to the helmet body with leather wedges. The trim including base/spike are toned brass. Brass brads at base of helmet. Spike top is not removable. Original leather chinstrap on M91 side lugs. Serrated Prussian and Reichs EM style cockades. This helmet appears to be 100% original and untouched. Great pre-WWI era rare, bannered helmet difficult to upgrade.
