Prussian Line Uhlan circa 1914 Enlisted Tschapka

Untouched in near mint condition

Prussian Line Uhlan Enlisted Man Tschapka  circa 1914.  This pattern was first a wartime model Uhlan helmet that was modified with a metal non-detachable mortar board and top. Black lacquered leather body with pre-war quality brass trim. The helmet has excellent form and proper turned down front visor. Visor stitching is loose in one area but the rest is firm. Exterior lacquer is in mint condition and still has nice sheen. No extra holes in the helmet body.  Black enameled mortar board is in mint condition and still has knot for parade cords. The helmet interior has a pre-war style flat tabbed leather headliner. Black leather lining is complete and appears never to have been worn.

The front plate is the small Uhlan sized Prussian Line Regiments Heraldic Eagle. No extra holes in the helmet body. There are no regimental markings found. Brass side posts with original leather chinstrap and original Reichs cockade.  The field badge has moth nip (see photo). Beautiful and all original wartime tschapka.   All original, untouched and in near mint condition.
