Prussian Fuss Artillerie Model 1915 Enlisted Pickelhaube
Wonderful and solid wartime helmet
Prussian Foot Artillery Enlisted Man for the 32nd Regiment - Model 1915. Recently purchased from the family of a WWI Doughboy who brought the helmet home. Black lacquered helmet body with field gray trim. Helmet body has near perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer has a very good finish. The helmet interior has thin undyed leather lining with 9 flaps. The liner is in good condition. Prolific markings noted inside helmet back visor.
These are: "FussAR 3" "XVIII" on one side and the handwritten name of the Soldier on the other back visor. No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Regiments eagle, held by the two original leather wedges. Enlisted style artillery ball top that twists off at base. Original leather chinstrap on M1891/15 posts with Enlisted Reich and Prussian cockades. Wonderful and solid wartime helmet with an outstanding provenance.
