Prussian 9th Dragoon Enlisted Pickelhaube

*RARE 9th Prussian/Hannoverian Dragoon Regiment EM helmet

Prussian/Hannover 9th Dragoon Regiment (Dragoon Regiment Carl of Romania-1st Hannoverian) Enlisted Model 1895/99. The helmet has been left uncleaned/unpolished. Fine heavy leather helmet body with brass trim. The helmet body in excellent form and firm stitching. The lacquer finish is dull with age and has a repair tear on the left side (see photos). Interior has EM style leather tabbed liner that is in excellent condition. The helmet interior visors are plain leather and have no legible markings.

Back visor has a small hole and tear (see photos) from being hung up on a nail as often seen in early post war years. No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Dragoon Eagle with the Banners “Peninsula – Waterloo – Gohrde" for this regiments service in the British “Kings German Legion” during the Napoleonic Wars. 100% original plate. The plate's banners are soldered (see photos) but this is original to the era. It is held to the helmet body with leather wedges. Brass crossed spike base with pearl ring at spike base and removable EM spike. Heavy rounded M1895 chinscales on M91 side lugs. Both Prussian and Reichs NCO cockades. Nice example of the RARE 9th Dragoon Regiment helmet. Needs a little TLC. Bargain priced!!!
