Prussian 1st Garde Dragoon "Private Purchase" - NCO Pickelhaube

Prussian 1st Guard Dragoon NCO/Officer helmet Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet with gilt trim. Body style is the standard Dragoon Style with squared front visor trim and crossed spike base (same style as General Officer helmet). The body has excellent form and firm stitching. No extra holes in the helmet body. The helmet has bright gilded cross spike base with officer pearl ring maintained by 4 brad retainers (One replaced). Smooth spike that is the proper pattern for Dragoons that is removable for use of plume for parade. Small dent to tip of spike (see pictures).
The frontplate is the Prussian wide winged Guard Eagle with "Vaterland" banner and Silver Guard star with non enameled center for NCOs, on the Eagle's chest. The frontplate is a perfect fit to helmet body and left deep marks. It is maintained to the helmet with screws. The inside has the original sweat leather with thin silk headliner. No damage to liner but the silk is loose towards front an back. Original convex chinscales on rosettes. Officer style Reichs and Prussian cockades. Beautiful all original Prussian Guard Dragoon Regiment Pickelhaube. Very rare to find an untouched piece in todays market.
