Bavarian Infantry Officers Pickelhaube with Case

Bavarian Infantry Officer Model 1897.  Excellent overall condition. Black lacquered fiber helmet with perfect form and firm stitchings. Lacquer finish remains near perfect with no crazing. Square front visor with green interior lining, back visor with red lining. Inside calfskin and silk lining is also in mint condition. Makers mark stamped in Gold "Depahag Patent". The fire gilt trim retains its original finish.

The frontplate is the mat gold type with the highligths in the shiny finish. No extra holes in helmet body behind the plate. Back spine slightly loose and pin missing. This helmet has never been cleaned or polished. Officers style cross base maintained by 3 stars and one front center brad. Tall gilt fluted spike that unscrews. Beautiful Gilt semi-convex chinscales maintained by rosettes. Original Reichs and Bayern officers Cockades. Comes with original carboard case.
