Prussian Line Dragoon Officer Pickelhaube

Untouched with the usual silver oxidation.

Prussian Line Dragoon Officer for Regiments 4-6, 10, 12 and 14 - Model 1897. From a distinguished collection in the US. Black lacquered leather helmet body with frosted silver trim and squared front visor. The helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is near mint and retains shiny finish even though it has not been polished in 100 years. There are no extra holes in helmet body. The helmet interior has excellent conditioned sweat leather and silk headliner.

Inside the liner are handwritten ink letters. The helmet has a silver crossed spike base with officer pearl/diamond ornamentation at base of spike. Smooth removable spike. Gold stars retain cross base to helmet. The Frontplate is the Prussian Line Dragoon Regiments Eagle. Original convex rounded gilded chinscales with silver officer rosettes. Original officers Reich and Prussian cockades. This helmet is all original and has not been polished or cleaned. It remains untouched with the usual silver oxidation. Beautiful and rare regimental helmet.
