Bavarian Line Infantry - Private Purchase NCO style-Model 1886-97. Another recent find. Black lacquered helmet body with bright brass metal trim. Helmet body is the early 1886 style thar has squared front visor trim and crossed spike base. Helmet has perfect form and firm stitching. Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Inner visors are colored red and green as is usually seen in officer helmets. The frontplate is the large M1886 Bavarian coat of arms. It is held to helmet body with screws. Cross spike base with NCO style pearl ring and removable fluted spike. M1886 pattern Bavarian side lugs. Leather chinstrap with repainted Reichs and Bavarian cockades. Beautiful and impressive Bavarian helmet.
