Prussian Felt Ersatz Artillery Pickelhaube

Prussian Artillery Enlisted Man for Line Regiments Felt Ersatz Model 1915. Out of the woodwork find. Green pressed felt helmet body with M1915 style field gray trim. Helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior felt in excellent shape with no tears or damage. No extra holes in the helmet body. The frontplate is the Prussian Line Regiments eagle, held by the two original leather wedges.

The eagle fits the helmet shell like a glove. Enlisted style artillery ball top. Round base with split brad retainers. The ball top untwists as is proper for M1915. The interior has a thin black leather lining with 9 flaps that is all original but worn condition. Original leather chinstrap that has slightly shrunken with age. Original set of enlisted Reich and Prussian cockades. Fine example of a wartime artillery felt ersatz helmet.
