Württemberg General Officer Pickelhaube with Federbush

Extremely rare with original Feather Plume

Black lacquered leather helmet body in excellent to near mint condition. Lacquer remains impecable. Extremely nice form to body with no flaws. Both visors firmly stitched with the red and green linings. Fire gilt trim. Dragoon style cross base with perlring maintained by four gold stars.

The frontplate is the Württemberg Wappen with a crowned Lion and Stag on each side holding the coat of arms. No extra holes. In the center the silver "Order of the Crown" Star with the enameled center and the "Furchtlos und Trew" motto. The star is the earlier type with the larger and more detailed (small lions) & enameled center piece. The plate left deep markes in the helmet.

The top is the fluted trichter in gold with the Coq Federbush consisting of Black and Red feather inside (mostly remaining) and white feather on the outside with some feather loss. Overall an Extremely RARE federbush. Most of the ones on the market are of course modern or later reproductions.

Inside lining is also near mint with the brown calfskin lining and beige silk with only minor wear. A set of rounded chinscales maintained by rosettes over the Officers Reichs and State Cockards will complete this helmet.
