Saxon 22nd Pioneer Batalion Enlisted Pickelhaube

Saxon Pioneer Enlisted Mans helmet Model 1895. Out of the "Woodwork" find. Black lacquered leather helmet body with silver trim. Helmet body has perfect form and fine stitching. Exterior lacquer has nice sheen and no cracks or damage. Interior of helmet has the later brown style EM leather liner that is still soft. Both visors are original to this helmet and fiber. No makers marks or issue stamps legible...just the wearer tag "Pioneer Gröne...."

Frontplate is the Saxon silver star and tombac center device. Frontplate is held to helmet with original leather wedges. All silver trim including base/spike & split brads, back spine, side lugs and front visor trim. Original leather chinstrap and Non-Serrated Reich and Saxon cockades. This helmet is 100% original and untouched. Great WWI era Saxon helmet "Ersatz" variant.
