Mecklenburg 17th Dragoon Officer Pickelhaube

Mecklenburg-Schwerin 17th Dragoon Regiment (1st Grand Ducal Mecklenburg SchwerinDragoon Regiment - Ludwigslust) - Model 1897. Near MINT leather helmet body with squared front visor and bright gold metal trim. Black lacquered leather helmet body with near perfect exterior lacquer and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. The frontplate is the gold rising sun star with the frosted silver Arms of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in the center.

The helmet has a gold crossed spike base with officer pearl/diamond ornamentation at base of spike. Tall fluted removable spike. Large gold stars retain cross base to helmet body. On the inside of the helmet under the spike base is a large, stamped metal plume support. Helmet interior has near mint sweat leather and silk headliner. Original convex rounded gold chinscales and officer rosettes. Original officers Reich and Mecklenburg officer cockades.
