Saxon Garde Reiter Enlisted Tunic and Pants

Beautiful set in Excellent condition - Named!

Saxon Garde Reiter EM Depot Issue Koller (Kammerstempel) + Trousers

Saxon style cornflower blue service tunic composed of densely woven wool with only a few moth nips and a small period repair (see picture). White facings adorn the collar, 'angled' cuff (unique to the Garde Reiter Regiment) and front vertical stripes edged with cornflower blue braid. White piping is displayed along the bottom hem, rear arms, back and rear skirt. Four brass (tombac) buttons appear on the rear skirt, with two to each cuff.

Tunic front fastened by 'hook-and-eye' closures. Missing the brass 'crown' epaulettes, but the straps and attachment buttons are present. Linen lining displays age spots and several issue markings: 12th Army Corps Clothing depot, 1907, 1908 reissue, 2nd squadron, and fourth garniture  „B.A.XII 07 / G.R./ 1908 / 2. E.” There is also a label sewn under the collar (seem open) to Gardist Simm of the Garde Reiter regiment, 2nd squadron „Gardist Simm 2. Eskadron Garde-Reiter-Regiment” . A few minor wear spots do not detract from the overall presentation.

Saxon cornflower blue woolen trousers with white piping remain in excellent condition with all buttons and straps present. Typically worn for dismounted duty or 'walking-out'.
