Prussian Garde Field Artillery NCO Pickelhaube

Prussian Guard Field Artillery NCO Custom Made (Eigentum) helmet Model 1895. From an old collection. This helmet is in near mint condition. Shiny black lacquered leather helmet body with fine brass metal trim. The helmet body is a very large size (estimate size 60). The helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer has a near mirror finish. No extra holes in the helmet body. The interior of the helmet has the EM style leather tongued liner that is undyed leather. The maker stamp can be seen on the back visor and on the leather liner (see photos). The inner visors are plain leather without markings (See Photos).

The frontplate is the Prussian Guard Regiments Eagle with a high vaulted silver Guard Star on the Eagle’s chest. The frontplate is secured to the helmet by screws. NCO spike base with NCO pearl ring around spike base and split braid retainers. The ball top is removable for replacement with plume for parade. Original rounded chinscales on rosettes. Reichs and Prussian cockades. This helmet was probably made during WWI. The construction is not as fine as pre-war helmets. The helmet appears to never have been worn. Fine 100% original and untouched helmet.
