Prussian Crown Order 4th Class with Swords
Beautiful Gilding
Prussian Crown Order - 4th Class also called "Königliche Kronen-Orden IV. Klasse". Instituted 18 October 1861 by Wilhelm I of Prussia. (1869-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed borders and pebbled arms, the obverse with a central raised crown, within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS”. Note the damage to the enamel (see pics. close-ups). the reverse with a central monogram of Wilhelm I of Prussia, within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt institution date of “DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861”. Two Swords cross thropugh the center indicating the order was awarded during wartime (WW1). The twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop and suspension loop. No Ribbon. Unmarked with about 100% of its original gilting.
