*The term "Hanoverian Gibraltar Regiment" refers to
Hanoverian infantry regiments that distinguished themselves during the Great Siege of Gibraltar (1779-1783)
and were subsequently granted the honorary title "Gibraltar Battalions". These regiments, serving under the British crown due to the dynastic union between Britain and Hanover, earned the "Gibraltar" cuff title to commemorate their valor during the siege. The Hanoverian regiments, including Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 10, Füsilier-Regiment Nr. 73, and Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 79, wore a cuff title with the word "Gibraltar" on their uniforms, a visible reminder of their distinguished service.
